Holvi originally started out as online banking for organizing events (split expenses, etc) in Finland. Since then they have pivoted to focus on small businesses, with a Simple-like simplicity. Banking is ripe for disruption, especially in Europe. Another interesting European banking startup is TransferWise (focusing on foreign currency transfers). I'm actually getting my Holvi account tomorrow - can't wait! :)

It looks like Holvi is currently limited to Europe. Stunning web site.

@toivotuo have been waiting for this to expand to UK, any chance I could get on the beta list? Would love to try it out. Do you have any plans to expand to Sweden soon out of interest? Was surprised to see this missing from the european list.

@jasondainter If you want to be an early access customer in Sweden (or UK), drop me an email (same as Twitter handle) and we can arrange that.

@toivotuo sure, I'd love to be (for both!)

@mhdempsey Simple and Moven are the obvious ones to compare us with. However, we're squarely focused on people running a business or other type of activity – sole proprietors, freelancers, associations. We're also independently authorised as a Payment Institutions with a license to operate Europe-wide. Being a regulated financial institution we have the flexibility to provide a full retail banking replacement.
