HeroMode

Hello Product Hunt Community 👋 For many years, I have wondered if it's possible to make the things we *have to do* into things we *want to do*. Like that sink full of dishes, ah how dreadful. Or that email I really have to write, but I'm dragging my feet (ok more like my hands). Yet, I can't count how many curved great throws I've done in Pokemon Go, and I can attest making curved great throws is no more joyful of an activity than doing dishes. I still don't know if it's totally, 100% possible, but that's what we've been trying to do with HeroMode. HeroMode is a task management system that integrates learnings from behavioral science to motivate users. So that getting stuff done takes less effort, willpower, and self-control. And when you are motivated, you can get an amazing amount of stuff done, while feeling happy and fulfilled. In order to achieve "joyful productivity", HeroMode is both a comprehensive task manager, and a motivational system. It has all the task organization features you would expect: - Create and manage tasks (which are called "Quests" in HeroMode) - Categorize tasks into projects (which are called "Adventures" in HeroMode) - Prioritize Quests with pinning and sorting - Schedule a Quest for later, or until a dependency is met - Set up repeat Quests for recurring routines - Take notes, or add checkboxes to Quests - Collaborate (or compete if you'd like) with buddies on a shared Adventure - Define and track Adventure milestones And now comes the fun and motivational part. HeroMode provides immediate gratification when you complete each Quest! - Earn points, which accumulate to level you up in an Adventure - Earn coins, which you can use to redeem rewards in the Piggy Rewards System (PRS 🐷) - Define your own rewards that motivate you; create your own Piggy Economy to shape your behavior - Visualize your progress with activity calendars, streaks, and stats - You can even see your points analyzed by day, by week, and by month, and broken down by Adventure We want HeroMode to be "universally motivating": anything you wish to do can be organized and motivated with HeroMode. So far, we have used HeroMode to build good habits (as well as quit bad ones), learn new skills, manage projects, and achieve health goals. We are excited to see what you will use HeroMode for! looks fun! i like the rewards component for achieving milestones. personally i would appreciate some kind of integration with obsidian/notion/other places where to-dos are kept so that i don’t have to maintain two separate lists. congrats on the launch!
