What do you think? …

Romina
This is a great idea! Will this have a platform to interact with the instructors for questions like other course platforms?
Greg Barbosa
Hey @redromina that's exactly the goal we'll be going after! For now, we're keeping questions in the private Facebook community members get access to once they join. We keep coming back to Facebook Groups/Messenger because our audience kept asking us to. They want to work where they understand and know the ins and outs, and we believe we should serve them where *they* are first.
Greg Barbosa
Hey ProductHunt! Thanks @zaccoffman for hunting us. I'm Greg Barbosa, co-founder at HelpCarol. My business partner, Carol, and I built HelpCarol to build a go-to community for baby boomers looking to learn technology. We go beyond the basics of YouTube videos and approach the fundamental concepts of technology. Ex: instead of saying, click here, here, and here, we explain the why behind each click. After a year of testing with different customers, we discovered this type of teaching language works well with the audience. If you're a millennial, or a baby boomer's baby, take a look at HelpCarol and see how we can help your family! Feel free to ask any questions you have below. I'm just proud to finally be launching something here on ProductHunt.

@benoit_chambon Glad you can see the benefit in this product too! Thank you thank you 🙏🏼

Hey @gregbarbosa - interesting idea. How many courses are currently available? How often do you plan to add new ones?
HelpCarol
Hey @vasgo, thank you! We're starting with a Zoom course, since it was a recurring theme during our customer interviews. We're planning on adding at least one per month, but already have scripts started for two others. On top of the courses, we'll also be releasing short, printable, guides too. Think of it like cheat sheets for how to use your iPhone, or how to use the camera, etc. Our launch is a Founding Member's launch so we can invite newcomers in, give them access to our resources, and learn directly what *they* want to know.

Love this concept and the execution so far, Much needed product and service for seniors and folks whom are re-joining society from the penitentiary, long commas and extended hospital stays.
Greg Barbosa
@adrian_cole2 Helping senior always seems like a "no duh" but the ability for us to help those re-joining society after some time away is going to be great. We're already envisioning how we can connect with local programs to help those communities get a jump-start.

I think this is a great idea - specifically targeting Baby Boomers is a twist that I don't think people would expect. So many times my parents have been frustrated with tech and either gave up or looked for an alternative rather than working it out and having that newfound knowledge.
Greg Barbosa
Thanks @matthew_meadows! That frustration is the part I'm excited to help them past. I know once they get over it, they'll find a new joy and excitement with tech!
Nik Hazell
This is really funny - and potentially a great idea too!
