A few years back, I was shocked at how expensive it was to outfit my small startup with office furniture. Aside from costs of the furniture, the additional costs of assembly was bind blowing. Some furniture providers "include" assembly for free, but you are paying for it in the total price. I was also shocked to learn that many small companies leave behind furniture as they scale or move into a larger space as it is costly to dis-assemble furniture, pack it in a moving truck, and re-assemble at your new location. We wanted to put an end to this once and for all. With the Pillar desk, it's as simple as "unbox, unfold the legs, flip the desk over, and you are off to the races. If you move offices or locations, you can set this up in minutes as opposed to first trying to remember where you left the screws for your old desk. We developed this with offices in mind which is why we designed it with commercial dual motors to withstand use that any office desk would have over the years. However, with more and more people working remote and in temporary workspaces, this is perfect timing. People can easily set up an inspiring workspace in their temporary living situation and take this desk with them for life. For companies that go back to offices, they will have unlimited flexibility in their ability to reconfigure their space as they'd like.

@mrmikesmith the total experience in office furniture is so backwards. It's 2020, and I truly believe the buying process should be seamless from beginning to end. Customer's should be able to easily buy through simplicity in designing the best desk, giving the end user everything they need from built in cable management, to memory, etc... Probably our biggest goal from the beginning has been to eliminate the need for assembly. I was shocked when I learned how much startups spent in furniture assembly, moving and setting up new offices, and more. Obviously this may all change with remote work. Specifically why sit-to-stand desk... I truly believe our health is paramount. Without our health, we can't go and tackle our lofty goals and dreams. I've worked at a desk and a sit-to-stand desk and without a doubt I am healthier, more active, and energetic working at a desk that allows me to sit and stand through out the day!
