Hands Down uses your Macbook's webcam to stop you from biting your nails while you work and browse. The app runs in the background, periodically checking on you. If it catches you biting it will blast you with warnings until you stop. It works!

Hi Product Hunters, here's a new thing I made for the nail-biters out there 🙋 It's an app that uses your Macbook's webcam to watch you 👀 and if it sees your fingers close to your mouth, it blasts this obnoxious warning on your screen until you stop I made this app when I realized that 90% of my nail-biting happens when I'm on my computer coding, doom scrolling, etc. Well, this app makes it impossible to do those things and bite your nails at the same time. If you're someone who bites only when you're in the car or on your phone or something, or if you don't use a Mac, then I'm sorry that my app won't work for you. (But I still want to make something down the line to solve the nail-biting for you guys/gals too) Thanks a lot for trying out my product, I hope it saves your nails.

Looks great. Two questions: 1- Do you plan for windows support? 2- How much it's gonna take from a computer performance?

@itai_handler1 Hey thanks for the Questions! 😁 1. No plan for windows support at the moment, sorry 😥 2. The performance impact seems to be minimal even on a 5 year old macbook pro, which is the oldest device I tested on There is a also a setting which will improve performance by reducing how often the app does its check Hope that helps!

Can you make a harder level, for example, automatically send something harsh to your boss if you bite 3 times after commitment?

Congratulations! This is awesome! Nail biting overtime is just the worst, we don't know what we touch before we put the fingers in our mouth so this is a great tool!
