Hi everyone,
I am one of the developers and founders of Hackevents. We started going to hackathons in 2013 and quickly found a need for a dedicated events calendar after missing multiple events β> so we just built one! π
Fast forward to mid-2015, we expanded from puny Germany to grand Europe and finally THE ENTIRE WORLD!!! π
We are super popular in the hackathon niche worldwide β that are not just students. We are supplying @devposthacks with upcoming hackathons and appreciate their work in the hackathon space as well.
We have been contemplating posting to @ProductHunt multiple times, but a website is never done. We are still actively working on the site, updating with new hackathons EVERYDAY, giving hackathon organizers full power over the display of their hackathons, and are open to suggestions :)
So for everyone who has never been to a hackathon π£β first-timers I'm looking at you β
OR people who are thinking to start going into computer science π β learn those street skills first https://hikaruzone.wordpress.com... β
OR real hackathon champions, won a bunch of hackathons, financed their Apple Watches and Surfaces (which they don't use anymore) through hackathon winnings π°β http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/24... β
OR people thinking to organize their own hackathon π‘β make sure it doesn't clash with other hackathons on a particular weekend https://twitter.com/Hackevents/s...
HACKEVENTS IS THE PLACE FOR ALL OF YOU β no more looking through Eventbrite, Devpost, Meetup, Google (haha), Facebook, or Twitter because WE CAUGHT 'EM ALL!! πΎ (best Pokemon ball emoji I found -_-)
Disclaimer: some inspiration for elements of the website definitely came from @andreasklinger's Product Hunt and the Twitter login. We are avid fans of @Twitter and wouldn't have gotten this reach without them!
Let me know what you think in the comments, looking forward to having an awesome discussion with you. π¬
Thanks for reading this far; you deserve a cookie πͺ
NOW JOIN YOUR NEXT HACKATHON AND THIS COULD BE YOU πΆ πΌπ πΎ
I gotta say, not only is this the best tool to find hackathons for beginners and experts alike, the guys behind are also masters in organizing hackathons. well done!
@michaelrbock Great idea Michael. That's not something we are currently collecting but I put it on the backlog and let organizers add a tag for their hackathon.

It's a great site and tool. Hackevents delivers good traffic to my event page for the next HR Hackathon in Berlin. Good job, guys (and gals?) ;)

Nice One. Big ups!!!!, If it could automatically detect your city, country and get you suggestions, that would be cool.
@orignmaster Hey Sam, thank you. That's definitely on our roadmap. We actually had this feature on the front page for a beta test but it was not 100% reliable and a bit buggy. Stay tuned! πͺπΌ
