Love how it doesn't need the retrofitting of wires, etc. Are there plans for a similar product but to control an air conditioner remote?

@joshuaoxj Thanks, we love it too! That's an interesting idea, and one we haven't considered. If enough people agree we will definitely see what we can do!

@ry_brink, why don't you give us more insight into some of the plans you have!

We built Habitat because we want to make home automation easier, cheaper and more useful. Lots of information on our Kickstarter page (https://www.kickstarter.com/proj...) but I'm happy to try to answer any questions not covered there here.

Does habitat use Wifi to communicate or is it standard Zigbee/Zwave protocol?
Ryan BrinkMaker@ry_brink · Developer, designer, entrepreneur
@dielawn714 We use Zigbee to communicate between sensors and hub and we will have converters for other protocols.

Ingenious. It's like what every hacker already builds for themselves... productized. As soon as I get a house I'll try it out ;)
