Peace of mind through simple SMS medication reminders

GuardianDose is a simple medication reminder system built for parents who don’t use smartphones — and for adult children who worry from afar. Parents receive SMS reminders and confirm when they’ve taken their medication. Caregivers can see what’s been taken, what’s missed, and get alerted if something goes wrong. Built to reduce anxiety, not add complexity.

What inspired this was honestly anxiety. I live in Belgium while my parents are in Portugal. When I visit, I can help make sure they take their meds properly. When I’m not there, I just worry. The moment that triggered it was seeing my mom almost take her evening pills twice because she forgot she’d already taken them. My dad also couldn’t remember if he’d taken his blood pressure medication that morning. I looked at existing solutions, but most assume smartphones, apps, logins, or tech-savvy users. That doesn’t match reality for many parents. So the problem I’m trying to solve is simple: How can I make sure daily medication is taken safely without adding complexity — and without me constantly calling to check? That’s what I’m exploring with GuardianDose, and I’m very open to feedback or criticism.
