Great work Mike and Team! LastPass is changing their free tier and I'm desperately looking for an alternative. Great timing

Thanks @leon_do! We're in the same position. Working on getting Gnokey up to feature parity with LastPass (with less bloat).

Hey Product Hunt, I’m the developer of 🚫 Gnokey🔑 and a partner of ManyUses, a digital product studio. In the past, we (ManyUses) have consistently run into the same problem both internally and with those we work with–having an efficient and minimalistic place to store our passwords. It’s the same pattern over and over. You pick a good password manager at the start (call it LastPass) and convince the team to use it. Then things get chaotic, you hear Fred and Sally both stopped using it a month ago and that they’ve been storing passwords in a spreadsheet in Drive. Eventually, out of convenience, you find yourself caving and falling back to using a spreadsheet also. Gnokey is our solution to this problem. We wanted to keep things as simple as possible and leverage existing workflows (aka. Google Drive files) but maintain a good level of security using client-side encryption. With LastPass’ recent pricing bait-and-switch and the discovery of their data tracking practices, we felt it was a good time to announce Gnokey to the world. Gnokey is in the early stages but we love it so far and hope you find it useful too. We’re also working on a v2 so let us know what’s missing or what could be better! Cheers! Mike
