Donate spare change to progressive political campaigns

GiveMini empowers citizens to contribute to the political process without breaking the bank. Frustrated with the influence of big money in politics, we're building on the success Obama and Bernie found in 2012 and 2016 through small donor contributions, but for the 2018 Midterm elections. What's up Product Hunt! Joel here. This is my first startup I've ever launched, and the first time I've ever posted on Product Hunt. Three months ago I decided to leave my job. I didn't quite know what I wanted to do, but knew I wanted to work on something at the intersection of politics and tech. I've been bootstrapping every last detail of this, pulling all nighters, and living out those stories you hear about folks learning to make ends meet in surprising ways. And I have to say... it's all been worth it. It feels really good to finally share GiveMini, the first app to let you send your spare change to progressive political candidates through roundups (like, if you're familiar with it). I've been heads down for the last few months concepting, designing, and developing the entire application end-to-end. Eventually, I realized I need to see what the community thinks. 🙂 We just launched with our first candidate, Bryan Caforio in CA-25. He's challenging Tea Party incumbent Steve Knight. It's unbelievable how hard the campaign's working. And ultimately, this is just the tip of the iceberg! I'd love your help shaping next steps. I'll be checking back throughout the day to answer questions, respond to feedback, get new ideas for features, or even learn about what candidates we should get on board next. Thanks for taking the time to read this! 🙏✊🇺🇸
@joelaguero love the concept – as you say it's like acorns meets awesome first PH launch!
@chanfest22 thanks man! Looking forward to getting more campaigns (and some non-profits in beta) on board in the coming weeks!
@joelaguero Just stumbled upon this and similarly have been searching for a way to combine politics and tech and have thought for months about something quite similar to this. I love this idea. I am involved in PA politics and will be in SF in the next few weeks. I would certainly like to hear more about this! Congrats on the launch a few months ago!
Love the mission. Congrats on the launch, Joel!
@adesome thanks for the support Max!
