Websites and other services are increasingly behaving differently depending on where the end-user is located (ex. European users might get a different website IP than users connecting from the US). We needed a way to more efficiently test connectivity and other network-related issues from different vantage points around the world. We created the GeoNet API to help run commands such as "ping" from multiple geographic locations and quickly collect the results.
