GanttPilot is an AI project planner that turns plain words into a professional schedule. It would be super helpful to have a quick way to import an existing project from a CSV or Excel file, so the AI can restructure it instead of starting from scratch every time. A lot of teams already have task lists sitting in spreadsheets and manually retyping everything kind of defeats the "describe and go" promise.
@cemilezkylgbx4 Good news — this already works! Excel (.xlsx) and CSV import are supported today: hit "Import file" at the top of your dashboard, next to "New plan." It also takes MS Project (.mpp) and Primavera P6 (.xer) files.
You're right that retyping a spreadsheet defeats the whole promise. The fact you didn't find it tells me the entry point isn't obvious enough — that's on me, and I'll make it more visible. Thanks for flagging it.
Honestly was pretty cool typing out a rough project idea and seeing the whole gantt with dependencies pop up right away, like the AI actually understood the sequencing instead of just dumping tasks. Definitely beats starting from a blank spreadsheet.
A natural language planner sounds great, especially for folks intimidated by MS Project. One feature that would make it even more useful for me: let me paste in a rough list of tasks from a doc or email and have the AI figure out dependencies automatically, instead of me having to type a full paragraph. That alone would save a ton of setup time on real projects.
