I've been a big fan of Galaxy on Fire 2 (GoF2), having spent countless hours playing that universe-exploring-pirates-destroying-ship-tuning-turret-building-hell-of-a-game, on my iPhone and on my MBP. Stunning graphics with the HD edition!
So yesterday night, I'm just browsing the app store and I stumble upon GoF3. I have to delete a few apps 😏 to be able to download the game (1,3 go), but that's fine CAUSE THAT'S GONNA BE THE BEST GAME EVER, RIGHT?
Well, no. Fish Labs has given in to the temptation of building a bland free-to-play, where in-app purchases, limited-time only deals, "-50% VIP PACKS", case-opening (SERIOUSLY?!), pre-determined missions (used to be an open world) & ship upgrades are pushed to your disillusioned face.
I uninstalled the game after investing a bit more than an hour.
Rant over!

@bptstmlgt GOF2 Is still probably the best game i've experienced on mobile. It hurts to hear they dropped the open "world" aspect. I really enjoyed just flying around from time to time.
@johnson3650 True! I'm having such a hard time finding great games on mobile now. Any recommendation?
If I had to recommend another two games I had good fun with, I'd say "Out There" (go get it right now if you haven't yet!), and "Hipster CEO", even though it's dated. The indie developer behind Hipster CEO is working on a sequel though ;-)
