I’m Tanmay, the Co-founder of Gala.
I came from Canva Video to a journey of indie making social mobile apps. During this I realised video ads were powerful growth hacks - but it took weeks of painful video edits and expensive influencers to make even one ad (that didn’t work.)
That’s what brought me into the deep dive of what makes a great TIkTok or Instagram video ad. And I realised how powerful hooks were - those first two seconds of an ad that reels you in.
Trying to use existing LLMs only made super corporate boring hooks that didn’t perform. That’s when we put together our own model at Gala, trained on 1000s of top performing hooks scraped from TikTok case studies & Meta ads library, to write hooks that sounded like a human.

Congratulations @tanmay_jain_ and the team on this launch, I think this will be quite a time saver because i really spend a lot of time in trying to getting the best hook for the video, I will definitely give it a try. what exactly made you specifically work on this product, is three a story behind?
@bilalasif thanks! So we all worked previously in trying to market our own startups and personally had this problem. Turns out we had a great team that understood this space, coming from Canva, TikTok, Amazon and Meta!
