Useful for anyone paying for US tools on an Indian card. Does it also tell me which of
these tools give a proper GST invoice? That's the part our CA always asks about.
@lovish_gandhi Ha, the CA question is the one we hear most. Yes, right under the price it shows "GST invoice: Yes / No / Unverified". If it's No, that 18% is gone for good, so it shows that higher price too. Worth checking before you put a new tool on the company card.
Can I see my total yearly software spend somewhere, or is it one tool at a time?
@tanisha_garg2 Not just one at a time. Hit "Add to audit" on each tool you pay for and the extension popup keeps a running monthly total, with and without GST reclaim. "See your full audit" opens it on our site, where you also see cheaper options and how much you'd save in a year.
Every time we bought a US tool for our team, the price on the pricing page was not what hit the card. Notion's $10 plan really costs about ₹1,170 a month here once you add the 3.5% card forex and 18% GST. If the vendor doesn't give you a GST invoice, you can't claim that GST back either. Nobody shows you this before you buy, so we started working it out by hand for every tool, and then decided to build it properly.
FTS True India Price is a free Chrome extension. Open any SaaS pricing page and it shows:
the real monthly cost in rupees, with and without the GST reclaim
whether the vendor issues a GST invoice
a cheaper alternative where there is one, often Indian
an "Add to audit" button, so you can stack up the tools you pay for and see your total yearly spend
Prices come from our catalog on findthatsoftware.com, where each price is checked against the vendor's own pricing page. We don't scrape the page you're on. The extension needs no login and stores nothing outside your browser. It covers limited tools today. If it stays silent on a tool you use, tell us which one and we'll add it.
Two questions for you:
Which tool's real India price surprised you the most?
What would make you keep this installed beyond the first week?
Showing real software prices upfront is a practical way to help people choose the right tools without the guesswork
@spotch_founder Thanks Nick! That was exactly the itch. We kept doing this maths in a spreadsheet for every tool and figured it should just show up on the pricing page. Is there a tool you've been surprised by after the bill came in?
