Hey PH! I'm Jeff, the maker of freesign.
I built this because I kept running into the same wall — needing to sign a PDF, opening DocuSign or Adobe Sign, and hitting a paywall or a 30-day trial that wanted a credit card. It felt absurd for something so simple.
Freesign does one thing: lets you sign a PDF free in your browser, with no subscription. You get [3] free signatures every month, and if you need more you buy a small credit pack — no recurring charges ever.
What makes it a bit different from other free tools:
- PDF rendering and signature placement runs in your browser — pdf-lib embeds your signature locally before anything is sent to our server
- Every signed PDF then receives a PAdES B-B cryptographic countersignature from our server, so authenticity is independently verifiable by Adobe Acrobat or our public Verify page -- ensuring the document hasn't been modified after being signed.
Would love feedback on the UX — especially the first-time signing flow. Happy to answer any questions below!
