hmm; it could be better if they just got rid of ATM fees completely. (like they do at any bank owned atm in England after a law change a few years ago)
@_jacksmith same here in Holland (don't know about fees for foreign bank cards though)

Before traveling for 6 month I opened up a Charles Schwab account.
They charge no Atm fees and reimburse you for any fees an Atm charges you. Plus no international fees.
Problem solved. Highly recommended.
@_jacksmith It would be better if the banks got rid of the ATM fees. In fact, London is where the original inspiration came from. We say that law change and wondered why it couldn't happen in the US

@ericnfondren@_jacksmith i work near London - independent ATM owners still charge fees, sometimes up to £2.50 per transaction. The only free ATM's are typically always bank owned.
@samuelbeek No ATM every holds Personally Identifiable Data. We can't track a transaction to specific person. We instead try to create an expected user type based on different data points about the venue, neighborhood and overall ATM usage.
@mrlozmoore@samuelbeek Many online and mobile advertisements already make use of the data you describe, but I can understand your hesitation when it comes to seeing that functionality at the ATM. It is your money after all.
@ericnfondren That's cool! In my opinion personal ads is a good thing. I can't afford a boat, so the world is more effective if I won't see any boat ads.
