FocusPilot

Block distractions, track time, and boost focus with AI

Unlike typical blockers, FocusPilot combines intelligent blocking with local AI analytics—no data ever leaves your browser. It auto-categorizes your top 500 sites using machine learning, provides detailed time tracking with interactive charts, and offers flexible blocking modes (scheduled, manual, or permanent). Set daily time limits per site, block entire categories during focus sessions, and train the AI to understand your habits. Your privacy is guaranteed—everything runs locally.

ERIC FRIEDENTHAL
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm excited to share FocusPilot with you today! The Problem: Like many of you, I struggled with endless distractions while working. I'd open my browser to research something and find myself 30 minutes deep into social media or news sites. Existing blockers felt too rigid—either everything was blocked or nothing was. I needed something smarter that understood my browsing patterns without invading my privacy. What Inspired Me: I wanted a tool that could block distractions during focus time but still let me access those same sites during breaks. More importantly, I wanted to understand WHERE my time was actually going—not just block sites blindly. And I refused to send my browsing data to external servers. The Building Journey: What started as a simple site blocker evolved into something much bigger: First iteration: Basic blocking with manual lists Then I added scheduled focus sessions (game-changer for my workflow!) The breakthrough: Local AI that auto-categorizes sites and learns from corrections—all in your browser, zero data sent anywhere Final touches: Time-controlled access (30 mins of YouTube/day), visual analytics, and exportable stats The hardest part? Building the ML model to run entirely client-side while keeping it accurate. But privacy was non-negotiable. What makes it different: 100% privacy-first (everything runs locally) AI that learns YOUR habits, not everyone else's Flexible blocking modes for different workflows One-time payment, no subscriptions I'd love to hear your feedback! What features would make this more useful for your workflow?
