Interesting B2B sales motion opportunities here. Could this be something companies "brand" and put in new hires' swag bags? Or, something schools "brand" and give to new students at orientation days?
Adam Yormark
@clare_startuptree Thanks Clare! That's actually something we're pursuing as well! Also a great promotional product
Adam Yormark
Hey Hunters! I'm Adam, the creator of FocusFlag, a simple-yet-powerful focus and productivity tool. I started prototyping FocusFlags back in April 2020 when there were 6 of us trying (with difficulty) to work from home with an open floor plan. Conflicts and interruptions disappeared pretty much immediately. Doesn't work on dogs though 🐶 There are about 67 different ways to pitch this product āš”ļø šŸ’¼ - Teams in open offices can use it to clearly communicate availability to each other. It's sort of the physical equivalent of turning on Do-Not-Disturb, or setting your status as "away." You know those fancy "phone booths" companies are putting in their open offices? Those have two purposes: 1. They give you a space to have private conversations. 2. They give you a space where people won't interrupt you. FocusFlag accomplishes purpose 2 but more portably and for not-thousands of dollars. šŸ“š - Students can use it when they're violently cramming for an exam (or just normally studying). It makes it so that spaces that are otherwise somewhat social become study spaces. You won't need to run away to the library to get peace and quiet. You can also put it on your door, but we like the idea of it being portable and going wherever you do. (If you want to put a sock sticker on the flag and put it outside your dorm room, we're not totally opposed to it.) šŸ  - Parents/spouses/roommates working from home can use it when they need to take an important call but don't want to be trapped in whatever tiny office/bedroom/closet they use now. You won't have to give a death stare or gesture vaguely at your headphones while mouthing "on a call" anymore. Somewhat counterintuitively it actually _improves_ communication because having the flag down is just as valuable as having it up. The hesitation and uncertainty of beginning a conversation or asking if you want to get lunch go away. In the end, you could argue it's a communication tool so you and the people around you can sing Kumbaya by the fire at the end of the day (while also getting all of your work done super fast). I made FocusFlag because I think we all need it honestly. Pretty soon after you put it on your computer things just become seamless. Let me know if you guys have any questions or comments. I'll be here!

This idea is elegant in its simplicity. I recommend re-branding to "Flippy Flagsā„¢"
Adam Yormark
@will_flynn Hahahaa We'll look into that!
Jesse Cheng
Love the product! How do you plan to market Focus Flag?
Adam Yormark
@jesse_cheng1 Thanks Jesse! There are so many niches we could go into, but we think that once people see the value in open offices that'll be the biggest market. It's amazing how much more seamless communication gets, and how much more productive people get when FocusFlags are integrated into a workspace culture. We hope that mostly word-of-mouth will carry us after a few big companies start to experience the value!

Focus Flag is simple and elegant. It's a very neat productivity tool that works in multiple settings. Highly recommend!
Adam Yormark
@ameya_kale1 Thanks Ameya! We couldn't agree more.
Charles Driscoll
Cool product, definitely could see using as swag for companies - Do you offer customizable stickers for the grey front or for the flag? Any engraving options?
Adam Yormark
@charles_dr Thanks Charles! Yes! We have customization options. Email us as sales@focusflag.com and we can run through those. You can customize the front surface, as well as both sides of the flag.
Francisco Delgado
Such a cool and simple idea, I just bought one of these in gray/red! Gonna grab one of the iMessage blue ones for my girlfriend once it's back in stock
Adam Yormark
@francisco_delgado1 Thanks for pointing that out Francisco. We actually do have iMessage blue flags in stock! They should be available now.
