FluxBar DIY

Hyper-customizable HUD & menu bar system monitor for macOS

FluxBar DIY is a native macOS menu bar and HUD system monitor for power users. Track CPU, memory, network, temperature and more in real time, switch between compact menu bar indicators and floating HUD overlays, and customize colors, layouts and thresholds to match your setup. I originally built it for my own M-series Mac because existing tools felt either too heavy or too ugly. Would love your feedback!

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Alex, the solo dev behind FluxBar DIY. I initially built FluxBar for my own M-series Mac because I wasn’t happy with the existing menu bar monitors – they were either too heavy, too noisy, or just didn’t fit the aesthetic of my setup. I wanted something that could be a clean menu bar indicator most of the time, but also turn into a beautiful HUD overlay when I really needed to watch CPU, memory, network, temps, etc. FluxBar DIY is my attempt at that: a native macOS system monitor with a focus on customization and visuals — you can tweak layouts, colors, thresholds and pick exactly what to show in the menu bar or HUD. Everything runs locally on your Mac; no data is sent anywhere. I’d love to hear how power users, developers and creators would use this in their workflows. What metrics do you care about the most? What views or presets should I add next? Thanks for checking it out, and I really appreciate any feedback, feature ideas, or bug reports! 🙏
