The Journey Behind the App My first launch on Product Hunt was a bundle of 15 free Vanilla frontend apps. As a no-coder, that was a tough learning school, but it gave me the confidence to tackle an even harder challenge: a full-stack web app. I’ll be honest. I didn't know what was waiting for me. It took 3 weeks of late nights, "blood, sweat, and tears," and overcoming daily technical hurdles I’d never faced before. But I was determined to build the tool I personally wanted to use. From No-Code to Full-Stack: My 3-week battle to kill doomscrolling. 🍿

I’m Pieter Haasbroek, the maker of FlickFuture.

My journey started right here on Product Hunt when I launched “15 Free Vanilla Frontend Apps.” As a no-coder, that was a tough learning school, but it gave me the confidence to tackle a beast of a challenge: Building a full-stack movie discovery engine from scratch.

I didn’t know what was waiting for me. I’ve spent the last 3 weeks sweating blood and tears, battling through long nights and technical hiccups to learn things I knew nothing about.

Good evening friend, the app itself is good and functional, but if it could watch movies, it would be a 10/10. But congratulations on the development, I think the initial layout could be improved; something with a more premium feel would be cool too. I'm a young Brazilian looking for ideas to create my own things (I'm thinking of something in the productivity sector, helping people have more clarity about their daily routine, tasks, habits, projects, goals, finances, all organized by category in one place). But it's still under analysis, I'm thinking...

One question, how do I cancel the subscription? I couldn't find the option.

@felipemartinsprivate Hi Felipe. Thanks for your honest opinions, suggestions and appreciation. Unfortunately to make a streaming app of movies I need to have billions of dollars because the copyright of broadcasting each movie or series are a lot of money. This was my first experience with coding, development of apps, etc. a tough journey indeed. You are correct in the sense of making it feel more premium. I have a long list of things not implemented yet and that I now will add as time past. My first priority was to get a working Saas app out there and then improve upon it with time. Your ideas for your app sounds great. Look for a gap in the market that will solve people's problems and you are good to go. I saw you have successfully cancelled your subscription, thus no need to worry. You will not be charged in 6 days. Good luck with your app.
