This is a strong competitor to Apple TV. It has many of the same features but I'd assume it has an edge with Alexa over Siri (at least at this point) for voice-based interaction. It's also about half the cost (with a Prime membership).

"Alexa, watch Bjorn." "OMG No.. I said Bjorn!" "Alexa, stop! Alexa, cancel!" "How do I turn this stupid thing off?" Unplugs TV.

Interesting. I've had a lot of success with an Echo Dot, Fire Stick and putting my 10 year old TV attached to an Alexa controlled plug. I can get Alexa to turn the TV on/off, play, pause, etc. Obviously not the same, but close. I just hope it has a better Netflix integration. Want to watch a programme on Netflix, it'll try giving you the paid for Amazon Video version 😕

This looks cool. I wonder if you'll be able to pair it to bluetooth headphones? Also, does anyone know if this will be available in the UK?

Oooh, that video made me want to get one

While their voice interface work is pretty strong, I think Amazon actually has a lot of catch-up to do in the TV interface arena, and I'd wait to see if they've solved that before buying one of these. I love my Echo, but I've also had a Fire TV Stick for a long while now, and it's so bad that I actually haven't used it in months. It's slow, with the interface being particularly sluggish, and as a whole it just doesn't feel good to use. I worry that they haven't quite come up with a great way to interact with these devices yet. Looking forward to being proven wrong, though!

whats funny about this is Bezos clearly took Trumps advice and did "America First", i guess he just wanted to show Trump. The rivalry continues...
