What do you think? …

Florian Di Vrusa

Hey !

I’m incredibly excited (and a bit nervous!) to share FinovaSharp, my first project as a side-indie developer.

What inspired me? In my professional experience, I’ve seen far too many companies uploading sensitive client data (IBANs, VAT numbers, IDs) to random 'free' online validators just to check a checksum. From a GDPR and security perspective, it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

The Problem: Most financial validators are 'black boxes.' You have to trust that the provider isn't logging the sensitive bank details you send to their servers. For enterprise use, 'trust' isn't enough—you need architectural certainty.

My Approach: I decided to build a local-first engine. I ported the entire validation logic (110 countries for IBAN, 69 for VAT, plus LEI and more) into WebAssembly using .NET 10.

Because it runs entirely in your browser:

Total Privacy: No financial data ever reaches servers or database.

Extreme Speed: You can drag-and-drop a 10,000+ row CSV and process it instantly without network latency.

Open Source Core: I’m a big believer in giving back, so I’ve open-sourced the core engine as a NuGet package for the .NET community.

FinovaSharp is the enterprise-grade wrapper around this engine, adding bulk processing, real-time credit updates with SignalR, and a secure dashboard.

I’d love to get your feedback on the 'Local-First' approach and the UX. I’m also happy to answer any questions about the .NET WASM implementation or my experience integrating Lemon Squeezy !

An API is also coming soon, stay tuned !
