An experiment that STEM people can do to find out if astrology works. The KEY to success is having the Scientific Attitude of open-minded skepticism. The target audience of STEM people have this key.
Newbie. supposed to have a first comment. Here it is.
I am the creator of igotostars.org, a 45-year fun home project.
Software developer. Now retired. Toronto. Financial Services.
What Happened?

At University of Waterloo I learned Cobol. Punch cards. In 1981 bought an IBM PC. Bought "K&R" C book. Built FIRST APP in C. It produced ".txt" reports printed on a dot matrix printer. One-year graphs were "X"s stacked on top of each other. Yikes.
iPhone came out. Built Objective C iPhone version of the app. Huge bloated, BLOATED environment. Yuck. BOO.
Oh, for the old wordperfect.exe on a floppy disk. One single file. Fonts were in the EXE. Share the app by handing over a floppy disk. It was so great. So simple!

The MOTHER of all single-file web applications

The website is https://igotostars.org Development tools were UNIX and vi on a Mac laptop. Testing was done on the internet browsers Chrome and Safari. That's it. Paradise!
igotostars.html CONTAINS ...

1. all of the many images coded as HTML inline base 64.
2. jQuery JavaScript code
3. thousands of lines of C code to do the planetary calculations and create data for reports. Used Emscripten to convert the C code into ".js", which then went into the HTML file. Details are in the HELP button on the main screen under the heading “info for STEM, igotostars Rationale”.

Many users are put off by reports sorted by numbers (percentile ranks). Many have a problem interpreting graphs. They want the tall dark handsome stranger. It is what it is.
For igotostars.org, the KEY is the Scientific Attitude of open-minded skepticism. If you have that, you are good to go. The STEM target audience generally has it.
