FileMasta is intended to provide a very powerful web server indexing and search service allowing you to find a file among millions of files located on public servers around the internet.

The search engine is powered by a public database that holds information about all the files web servers have.

You need to become a Contributor to join the discussion.
Why is this called OpenPlex? Seems like Plex, the company, might not be too happy about that.

This should not be here. I certainly hope ProductHunt isn’t condoning piracy…

@alexdbauer Slippery, that slope. If you’re handy with the Google, one can generate these same URLs w/o OpenPlex. The only commonality is the source of the file — and perhaps the person partaking of it.

Y'all misunderstand — I was not suggesting this should be censored. I AM saying ProductHunt is a positive community of people who enjoy making (and using) great stuff. I hope we're above promoting thievery from fellow creators…I believe this community is better than that. @kkdub @sean_jadoon @fnerd @mxsawyer

@kleerkoat For now, yes :( But we're already putting together plans to bring the same concept to the web browser, so expect to see something soon.

Just ran a VirusTotal scan on the latest executable file. The results warned of suspicion of malware. Here's the last run report:

@nilayk Not sure why that is, the complete source can be found on GitHub if you're worried about anything? But could be because it's not packed with security to protect the source.
