Hey πŸ– We're Or Preiss & Orr Adar (yep..same name πŸ’), indie maker duo from TLV, very good friends and passionate festival goers. We still have tons to do with Festronaut but we decided to release it now and gather some feedback 🍼 Over the past few years we’ve been managing a digital community of 4000+ festival goers, promoting music festival culture in Europe, and this what led us to start working on the Festronaut. Going To A Music Festival Not Only Makes You Happier, It Changes Your Life! The ambiance of a music festival sparks a light inside anyone attending. The electric energy pulsating through the crowd is an addicting rush that unites every single festival-goer in perfect harmony. A good festival experience will consist of meeting people you never normally would, listening to the sweet melodies of music you've never heard before and creating memories you keep with you for the rest of your life. This is the real drive behind our attempt to make festival life accessible to more people. We started working on the Festronaut 4 months ago, building up to festival season 2019 and we got a lot more planned to the future. At the moment you can: search, review, follow & share, engage in discussion and contribute to the crowdsourced collection of festivals. Please let us know what you think in comments, We hope you'll enjoy the company of the Festronaut. Many thanks, the Festronaut Crew :)
LOL, love the name. cc @jtzou Where are you sourcing the festivals from, @or_preiss and or_adar1?
@jtzou @rrhoover XD The Festronaut even got a background story: http://www.festronaut.com/festro... To your question, like @or_adar1 mentioned above, we decided to manually pick and add the initial festivals collection and so, we selected 250 festivals to start with. We believe these festivals represent the core in the regions we focus on rn. We allow community members to suggest new festivals and edit info and as soon as a suggestion is being added, it's going through a short verification process, then we add it on to the collection. Of course, we hope to automate this process after learning more from how members using these features.
@jtzou @or_preiss @rrhoover thanks Ryan! 🀟 like most good things, it came to us when we weren't looking for it.
Amazing platform providing a centralised community for festival goers! Would be interested to know where you're sourcing the initial data from? So many incredible parameters! Can't wait to follow the project πŸ™Œ
@lachlankirkwood Thank you so much for your feedback Lachlan 🀟 When we started listing the info we want to have for each festival we realized we want to go deeper than usual, as festival-goers we're interested in knowing what kind of beer there is, what type of audience, how big it is really and of course what others think about it. So that's how we designed it. We manually do all the work ourselves for the festival profiles, it feels important to do it and we get two things from it: 1. Get to deeply know each festival we have on the site 2. we search for info bots and crawlers can't understand. The rest is done by the community- Reviews, tips, and soon some we will add awesome features allowing you to interact with more things on the site...
@or_adar1 Amazing work! Definitely adds value to the end experience!
@lachlankirkwood thanks! we think so too! Still have a lot of work ahead, But we felt it’s necessary to test these values that guide us moving forward.
@or_preiss This one's good! I would like to offer you to publish an interview about it at StartupRadius.com - how does that sound?
@or_preiss @paul_shuteyev Hey Paul 🀟 Really glad you like it and thanks for your support! I'm sure @or_preiss will be as thrilled as I am when he hears that! he's en route in the Philippines atm, that's a really nice treat waiting for him here when he's back online 🀩
