What is Feeling HQ?
Feeling HQ is a collection of free interactive feeling wheels that help you identify and name your emotions with greater precision.
Most of us use only 5–7 emotion words regularly. But research shows that expanding your emotional vocabulary — called “emotional granularity” — significantly improves mental health and communication.
Why we built this
Paper feeling wheels are great, but:
They’re static and hard to navigate
You can’t use them easily in remote meetings
There’s no way to collect anonymous team responses
We rebuilt the feeling wheel as an interactive, web-based tool that works beautifully on any device.

The science behind it
The original Feelings Wheel was created by psychologist Gloria Willcox in 1982. Robert Plutchik’s Wheel of Emotions (1980) identified 8 primary emotions. We’ve combined these research foundations with modern interaction design.
Studies show that people who can precisely name their emotions:
Regulate emotions more effectively
Have better mental health outcomes
Communicate more clearly in relationships
Make better decisions under stress
