I wish that Twitter split out sports discussions into a separate app. I like what investors like @semil and @rabois have to say on Twitter; but whenever there's a basketball or football game, they tweet loads of sports stuff, that I don't get (as a non-American), which is really different to the content that they normally tweet about.

@_jacksmith @semil @rabois One of the reasons why we built Broadcast Football for fans.
@_jacksmith for the record, i tweet a lot (mostly public replies), but only occasionally during big sporting events -- and definitely not during basketball ;-)
@semil yes, yours are more restrained in volume. that's why I'm able to follow you, but not @rabois - despite his great investment landscape insights. I literally have no idea what any of this stuff means (not to throw any one individual under the bus, just giving one British transplant's perspective):
@_jacksmith in TweetBot for iOS, you can mute a user for specific time period (and mute hashtags). I also find that (1) lists help during these times or (2) it's just another reason to lay off twitter at that being and do something else, either on-or off-line. Wait until the election gets underway -- politics, sports, award shows -- they're all pop culture and unavoidable. There's no escape.
@semil interesting, I'll have to check that out. yes, you're right, that sports are only one element
Midnight (ET) announcement by @skafka says they're launching with (American) football and will follow with basketball, soccer, and other soon. Good timing with the Superbowl coming up. It doesn't appear to be in the App Store yet. It's likely propagating and will be available shortly. I didn't expect to see this come out of Facebook but it makes a ton of sense. EDIT: re/code's @KurtWagner8 clarified that it's not a separate app but instead built into the Facebook app itself. To find it, search for the game.

No hockey / NHL? (๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ here)
@mijustin it's available in US only for now
A few people have mentioned Football/Soccer apps. I've gathered a little collection that you might find useful. Will add BF in due course. https://www.producthunt.com/@bcf...
@bcf_ant would love to get your opinion on SportOn (www.sportonapp.com) before we launch in UK. Feel free to shoot me an email.
