Face Down

Face Down

Face down = focus up. A physical firewall for your attention

Digital nudges aren't enough. Face Down uses gravity as your interface. Place your phone face-down to instantly start a deep focus session or activate a safe child lock. Lift it, and you face a philosophical nudge, not a notification. Features: Dual-Mode: Focus tools for adults, gentle locking for kids. Safety-First: Built-in thermal guards, battery protection, and instant emergency dialing. No complex setup. Just put it down.

I built this because I couldn't hear myself think. I love technology, but the constant noise is deafening. I realized I couldn't focus on the big picture because I was constantly tripped up by the mundane bullshit buzzing in my pocket. Digital blockers weren't enough; I needed a physical firewall. Face Down uses gravity as the interface. Face Down: The session starts. Silence. Lift Up: You get a choice—a quote or a nudge—asking if you really want to break your flow. We also built a Child Lock Mode for parents who need a simple, non-punitive way to pause screen time without faffing with enterprise-style parental controls. Crucially, we built this with a Safety-First Doctrine. It includes instant emergency overrides (long-press), thermal monitoring, and battery guards. It is a tool, not a trap. I’d love to hear your feedback.
