Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Enzer, the solo dev behind EvoCat 🐾 I built EvoCat because I was seriously struggling with mindless scrolling. Even when I had important things to do, studying, working, building, I’d catch myself wasting hours on my phone. I tried timers, app blockers, and all the usual tools. They worked for a while, but always felt boring and too easy to bypass. So I asked myself: what if staying focused felt like raising a pet? That’s how EvoCat was born. It’s a gamified app blocker where you evolve a digital cat by staying focused. Every time you block distractions, EvoCat grows, and with each evolution, the blocking becomes stronger (adding real-world friction). It’s still an early version, but this simple, fun approach helped me way more than traditional focus apps. Would love to hear what you think! • What features would make it more helpful for you? • How do you personally fight scrolling addiction? Feel free to share your thoughts, feedback, or ideas. 🙌 Thanks for reading and hope EvoCat can help you too!

Great idea in the current time of Internet 👍

The idea is really interesting! The gamified mechanic sounds cool, and I’d definitely be curious to try it out. But here’s the thing: are you sure blocking distractions is the best approach? While it might make the process more fun, how effective is it in the long run? Maybe it would be worth considering more flexible settings or integrating other methods for boosting focus as well.

Anyway, the concept is great, and I’m excited to see where you take it! 😊
