There is nothing more rage-inducing than losing a gunfight in Valorant because your gun stopped spraying, or accidentally closing two tabs when you only clicked once. If you’ve been noticing weird behavior—like folders opening instantly or drag-and-drop failing halfway—you are likely a victim of the dreaded "Double Click Issue." It’s a plague for modern gaming mice (looking at you, Logitech and Razer). Is My Mouse Broken? Before you smash it or buy a new one, you need to know if it's a hardware switch failure or just a software glitch. The problem is usually "switch bounce"—the metal contact inside the switch is worn out and sending multiple electrical signals for a single press. How to Test It Properly: You can't just "feel" it reliably. I found a site called DoubleClickTest.xyz that actually visualizes these micro-clicks. It shows you the exact delay between your clicks. If you click once, but the site logs two distinct inputs with a tiny 20ms gap, your switch is definitely dying. It’s a great way to confirm the issue before contacting support for a warranty claim. Potential Fixes (Try these first!): Static Discharge (The "Humidity" Trick): It sounds stupid, but try lifting the mouse button and blowing warm breath into the switch gap. Static electricity can sometimes trigger false clicks, and the humidity discharges it. Software Debounce: Check your mouse software (G-Hub, Synapse, etc.). If there’s a "Debounce Time" setting, crank it up to 4ms or higher. This tells the firmware to ignore those rapid-fire false signals. The Nuclear Option: If the test still shows red double-click warnings, you might need to solder in new switches (Japanese Omrons are the gold standard) or just grab a new mouse.
