Don't Hunt Me

Avoid getting hunted on Product Hunt

Don't Hunt Me displays a popup on your website to let Hunters know you are not ready!

It detects users coming from Product Hunt and redirects them back after a few seconds.

And hopefully, the Product Hunt Team will not feature your product ๐Ÿค—

    Very easy to use

    Cons:ย

    Haven't encountered yet

This is amazing tool for makers who want to test their idea a bit, and prepare it for a better launch. I was lucky enough to beta test this product and was really happy about it. Very nice nice

Easy to integrate, adds a missing PH feature

    Cons:ย

    None yet

This easy to integrate js snippet helps creators to ensure that their product doesn't get featured prematurely on PH.

Hopefully this post sparks a discussion so we get this feature natively.

Hi PH ๐Ÿ‘‹ This hunt is bit meta ๐Ÿ‘€ Makers build more and more theirs products in public, sharing progress on Twitter, on Maker Goals or Wip Chat. But they also increase the chances to be hunted prematurely! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ (and we know how important a PH launch is nowadays...) We discussed this problem on wip.chat yesterday after the product of a fellow maker was hunted too early๐Ÿ˜• We thought of one potential solution : Display a message on your product to avoid being featured by PH team! So I built a small javascript that you can put in your landing page ๐Ÿ›  It detects users coming from Product Hunt and let them know your product is not ready. And if everything goes well, the Product Team would remove the submission.๐Ÿ™ I hope this will help other makers keep control of their launch! A big thank you to the wip.chat community that comes up with the idea and helped me build this in less than a day. In no particular order :@jurn_w @wimgz @pugson @lbckr @bentossell @ndethore @deadcoder0904 @getaclue @levelsio @yesnoornext @rameerez @arminulrich @stephenfjohnson @lenilsonjr Thank you !

Awesome! I'll definitely use this the next time Product Hunt staff refuses to take down my product.

Why it's not a paid product?
Great idea! Very nice!
Nice implementation! Also a win-win since it lets everyone know that you intend to launch on PH anyway :) Maybe you could even add a field to be notified when the product is ready (link to PH Upcoming or other)
@wimgz Thanks William! I thought about a subscription field but I think (hope) that not a lot of people will see the popup, since it would be quickly removed form the submission. But I could maybe make a small banner "Upcoming on PH" banner on the normal than would let people to subscribe to a newsletter or the PH upcoming page ?!
