Great work by @mcintoshjm to bring DivvyUp to life. Own a couple pairs myself. One pair for you, one pair for the world!
Has anyone else noticed how many sock startups there are out there? So I saw this one yesterday and though "at least they're giving pairs to the homeless". If I were them, I'd call my campaign: one sock for you, one for the homeless. Or something hilarious. Anyway, socks... :D
@v4violetta like we were saying yesterday! So many sock startups!!! #sockscription
@v4violetta It's because everybody needs socks! Who knows, maybe the next big thing will be underwear startups...? ;) But – to be serious – this seems like a really nice concept to me. I like the idea of giving for getting..
Hey, @alternative3. Thank you for the support! Underwear is also in huge demand at shelters, so underwear startups might catch on haha.
@v4violetta haha so true, lots of socks! :) Just posted one last week: http://www.producthunt.com/posts...
@alternative3 @mcintoshjm I think they're already well on their way: http://www.producthunt.com/posts... (underwear for good)
DivvyUp began after taking a trip to our local homeless shelter where we learned of their huge need for clean socks. We decided to sell exciting novelty socks and with every pair purchased we would give a pair to those in need. To date, we have been able to give over 2000 pairs of new socks. We have been able to satisfy our local shelters need, as well as expand our giving across the state.
@mcintoshjm I am so happy people are spreading the word as I am a sucker for social good startups. I also added DivvyUp to my collection: http://www.producthunt.com/v4vio... Thanks.
@v4violetta thank you so much for the support, we can use all of the help we can get. Feel free to throw any feedback our way. We want to hear the good, bad and the ugly.
Very similar business strategy as the "TOMS : One for One" shoes. I'm definitely not the target market but I could see how this could catch on.
Added to my Charity collection: http://www.producthunt.com/anuja...
@anujadhiya awesome! Thank you for sharing DivvyUp.
