This is cool but it's totally impractical if your window receives a lot of sunlight. You don't want a really bright light behind your monitor, plus your coworkers will probably prefer you not block their view all day… Plus the layout of many offices wouldn't be conducive to using this as a desk, since usually they're are various fixtures in front of windows. Also, pretty small and useless if you need more than just a laptop on your desk. But it'd still make a great shelf (plus you don't necessarily have to mount it on a surface facing outside…many offices have glass walls). I wonder if it'd work on a regular plaster wall. Probably not. Frankly, it seems odd to market it primarily as a standing desk.

You don't want your screen opposing the window because light comes from there and it will reflect. You DO want it to face the window. Therefore this will work very well. > Plus the layout of many offices wouldn't be conducive to using this as a desk, since usually they're are various fixtures in front of windows. I've been in tens of coworking spaces around the world. They usually have open windows available where you can do this. >Also, pretty small and useless if you need more than just a laptop on your desk. Most people I know work from just a laptop. We don't like have much stuff.

@haroldcummingto not to mention they tout weight but ignore longevity. I'm not worried about it holding my 2-lb laptop, I'm worried about it suddenly coming un-stuck after X hours like every suction cup product I've ever used. Going to be a difficult sell at $170-$200 also, for anyone but the most dedicated and price-insensitive minimalists.

@levelsio No he's right. Facing sunlight (screen facing away) means your face/shirt/surroundings are brightest and at their most visible in the reflection. ANY bright sunlight is going to create issues though, so this is probably best used on a glass conference room wall or at night.

@haroldcummingto how is facing the sun not the best possible angle for looking at a laptop? I see this as a productivity-increasing addition (not substitute) to my regular sitting-in-the-darkness desk.

I won't call it a window-mounted standing desk; window-mounted shelf or window-mounted coffee table seems more appropriate IMO. In any case, great idea/product! 👍👍👍

Love this idea! I'm all about having a nice view from my desk. With the amount of time you spend at it each day, it can keep you happy or make you go insane. Taking your laptop over to a communal sofa and putting it on your lap only works for so long before your neck and back are killing you. The mobile standing desk is the future!
