What do you think? …

Hey Product Hunters! Here's my initial thought: Every Mac comes with desktop background image. The pre-set one used to display wild animals, space and volcano. Now it's mountains. I kinda like them, but still - it seems to me like wasted space that could be used in slightly more meaningful way. I'm collecting stories about the way how poeple are using the app and it's really great - there are café owners who run publicly accessible computers in their spots and have their café's website on desktop, there's a broker who use Desktopr as wall with financial data, Desktopr is used on trade shows, bloggers are monitoring new comments using the app, there are geeks with random wikipedia article on the desktop etc. What are your thoughts and website you'd like to put on your desktop background?
Daniel Craig
@mirapod hey Mira, first up, I love Desktopr. A few things which I've not been able to figure out which would greatly help me extend usage and advocate to others. 1. I use two screens. I'd like to choose which one it runs on. Is there a way to do this? 2. There are one or two sites I use to input data in all day long. Turning on browsing mode is really helpful for clicking but what would be really helpful would be to interact with forms, fill in data etc. I've never figured out a way to do this. This would also help for logging in to various password protected resources. I know the Safari workaround for passwords but it would be great to know if there's a better way!

@daniel_craig Hey, Daniel, 1) This is planned feature, in two versions there will be support for multiple displays. 2) Amount of websites you may go with is unlimited. Each URL has also adjustable duration (from 1sec to unlimited). The forms thing - there was changes in last versions of Safari which caused this issue, I have to figure out how to re-enable these functions again.

@mirapod Thanks Mira great news on both points!

Desktopr is simple way to extend your desktop with any content. Using Desktopr you can set any website, social network, movie or other content as your desktop background. Imagine your Facebook, Gmail, Twitter or favorite blog or magazine as a background of your desktop. You can switch currently showed content from desktop level to front anytime from menu bar and start browsing immediately. What's your thought in this guys?

Great idea! Would love to use for managing todo list and calendar events etc... Would be easy to build a local page that grabs all this stuff via API's. Like GeekTool but way easier and more modern! I just tested out with our software and I can't use the login form. Is there anything we need to do is support for input fields coming soon?
Mira Podorský
@mposborne If you use todo list or calendar which runs in browser...
Mira Podorský
@mposborne There was changes in last versions of Safari which caused the issue with forms, I have to figure out how to re-enable these functions again. Will be fixed.

I just bought the app. It's really great, but there's one problem, I can't access private pages because I'm unable to login. Is there a way to fix this?
