"Design Life is a podcast about design and side projects for motivated creators. It was born after your hosts, two serial side project addicts, saw a gap in the podcast market for a conversational show about design and the issues young creatives face, that was hosted by two females. This show aims to tackle the big issues designers face like getting paid, overcoming a creative block or managing time, to name a few. We want to open up discussion about things we wish we heard people talk about when we were studying, and we want to chat to you about the joys and the frustrations of working in the tech industry by day, and on our passion projects in the rest of our waking hours. We hope that by doing so, Design Life will give you a dose of motivation or inspiration when you need it."

@alexcartaz thanks Alex! Femke here - one of the hosts of the show. We are both wanted to bring a female perspective to the design industry and bring others along on our journey of side project hustlers! Our show is very much community oriented and we'd love to hear any questions or topics you'd like us to talk about on future episodes.

@femkesvs Hi! I just started listening so I'm not sure yet, but maybe it would be cool to hear about other (female's?) design projects and stories in addition to your own. How aspiring designers can use them to kickstart their career and the importance of side projects to growing professionally? I'll be sure to listen to the episodes and let you know if I have any other suggestions - good luck, I'm excited!

@alexcartaz thanks for the feedback :) We don't yet have plans to interview other designers on the show but it could be a nice addition. We'll have a think about it :) Great point about using side projects to grow professionally! Adding it to the list.

This show is really fantastic. I love listening to Charli and Femke talk (and not just because of their New Zealand accents, though that part is great too) about their design backgrounds and views on how to start and manage side projects. This episode in particular is really great, though I can't wait to listen to the rest of them. The show is really well made, great audio quality and the editing is really great. Too many podcasts out there sound like trash because some guy grabbed a terrible $25 mic from Radio Shack and decided to talk about himself, but these two sound great. Really enjoyed this episode! Can't wait for more.
