The deals you see here are not just scrapped from the internet but posted by growing startups and indie-creators themselves (happy to answer any questions directly). You too can submit your Black Friday deal by signing up and creating a post 💪.
I have discovered interesting products from here yesterday when I saw on Indie Hackers. It's a plus they had sweet deals on them ;)
I do have a question. How do you calculate views and likes? The trending deal had 16K in likes but only 100 views.
@dinakar Hey Dinakar, I am super happy that you found a lot of sweet deals through us. Well, regarding the likes. The mechanism works similar to medium.com, new registered users are given 1000 points that they can give away on any post that they might like. Additionally, one can upvote the post without opening the post as well. However I do see your concern. I am yet to code any strict checks on these, but I am sure there is something I can do about this. I will work on it. Thank you.
Thank you for hunting @5harath
Hello to PH folks!
A week ago, the idea sparked.
I found many blog posts that listed all the Big Black Friday deals from Unicorn, but I thought it would be much more helpful/cool if the creators themselves write a post about the deal and present it to answer any comments from the users.
My friends and I spent the next week reaching out to creators personally. A few of them didn't really think about having a BF sale yet, and created deals post reaching out. It's free to post and free to comment. Login is required so that you receive an email notification if there is any further conversation on the posts you subscribe to or being tagged.
While we didn't make any dollars out of this side project, we sure made many friends. More precious. Honestly!
I warmly invite you all to check-out the deals, support the creators and post yours if you got one.
@mhlavacka Well! I saw quite a few blog posts mentioning deals from unicorns, but I wanted a place (with no internal promotion whatsoever), an open space where budding creatives, startups can write their deal by themselves and respond to queries directly. I just thought it's cool this way.
