Hello everyone, I am the creator of Dashbit, a beautiful and lightweight App to track your habits. Here is a little backstory about it. I always wanted a very simple App showing - in a glance - how I was doing but couldn’t find any. So I decided to make my own with a focus on simplicity and Don’t Repeat Yourself. As a big calendar user, I first started implementing a calendar reader, so the App could count events occurence and duration to update my progress. I also added a “planner” feature which reads upcoming events and reports if you planned enough time to reach your habits goals. The update is live as you modify your calendar so it’s very handy to plan your week. Next was the support of Health data as I was tracking all my health related habits using the Apple Watch. The App is able to extract data from the workouts / rings / mindfulness and sleep. Meanwhile, I got early feedbacks that some weren’t comfortable to give access to their calendar (no trust, using corporate calendar, etc…) but also from users who disliked the rigidity of planning. This is why I also added in-app data: the App can work without calendar nor any smart watch. Each habit can use a different data source so it’s easy to tailor the App to your needs. I use Natural Language instead to configure new habits: just type what you want to do and the App setup everything accordingly. As a side effect, the App is optimized for english right now. To deal with the complexity of having multiple data sources, I designed a centralized To Do Task view. - When a task relies on the calendar or health, it shows an icon on the left to indicate where to complete it. - All the calendar events related to your habits are showing on the top of the list so there is no need to switch between the App and the calendar. - When using in-app data, you can just tap the checkbox to indicate it was done. - Finally, the App handles partial update which is very convenient for duration based habits. ex: if you did 4h of volunteering during a day on your 16h monthly target, slide your finger on the task to change the amount you did before taping the check box. I hope you will enjoy the App as much as I do. You get 3 free habits a year, 1 month trial and it’s an affordable yearly subscription (less than a $1/month).

@inell You create your habit by typing what you want to do as the title, then the App uses natural language processing to setup your habit. You can then choose a data source to use : - in-app: you go into the app to check tasks you did - calendar: the app matches the event name to what you picked during the setup to update your progress - health: you just trigger your workout on your smart watch and the app reads it to update your progress You can also adjust the period you want to start / stop your habit by dragging your finger in the preview tile. Once your hit create, the new tile representing your habit shows up on the dashboard. It uses "dots" when the habit count quantity or vertical bars when the habit count duration. hope this helps!
