ctx_

One command to switch your entire DevOps context

Most tools manage one piece: direnv for env vars, kubectx for K8s, aws-vault for AWS. You're still juggling multiple tools. ctx_ is different - it treats your entire DevOps environment (cloud providers, orchestration, tunnels, VPNs) as one switchable context. One command replaces dozens. It's stateful, meaning active SSH tunnels and connections switch too. Built for people managing 5+ environments daily.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Vedran, and I built ctx_ because I was tired of the mental overhead of switching between environments. The problem: Every time I'd switch from dev to staging to production, I had to: - Change my AWS profile - Switch kubectl context - Update GCP project - Reconnect SSH tunnels - Remember which Nomad/Consul/Vault to point at - In which browser profile i need to open my SSO links? - Hope I didn't forget something I was using direnv, kubectx, aws-vault, and a bunch of shell aliases. It was still messy. Why ctx_ is different: Instead of managing pieces separately, ctx_ treats your entire DevOps environment as one switchable context. One command (ctx use staging) and everything updates - cloud providers, orchestration, tunnels, env vars, all of it. It's stateful too, so active SSH tunnels and connections switch automatically. And there's a production safeguard so you can't accidentally `ctx use prod` without `--confirm`. It's open source (MIT licensed) and written in Go. Works on macOS, Linux and Windows(WSL) I'd love your feedback: - What tools are you currently juggling for environment management? - Would this fit your workflow? - What features would make this a must-have for you?
