Crankshaft is a turn-key GNU/Linux distribution for the Raspberry Pi that transforms it to an Android Auto headunit. All you need is a RPi3 board and its official 7" touchscreen.
Thanks for hunting @anatolinicolae this is pretty cool, what features could the auto headunit have? Or is that dependent on what you program into your Raspberry Pi?

@abadesi I guess it could virtually run any Android Auto apps and interact with car systems as well but so far it can do just few of those things, you can find a list on the OpenAuto page at https://github.com/f1xpl/openaut...
