Hola Product Hunt, Cool Backgrounds is a curated list of javascript libraries that lets you create a one-of-a-kind image for blog posts, website backgrounds or to use as a phone wallpaper. 📔 The "Background" While finishing up another side project CSS Gradient (https://www.producthunt.com/post...), I unexpectedly noticed the popularity of free wallpaper and background image websites. As useful as static images are, what was missing was a tool that enables non-technical folks to use all the emerging javascript libraries to create unique images of their own. So Cool Backgrounds was born 💥. 🇲🇽 Maker Bio My name is Moe—I’m a Mexican designer trained at MIT and based in San Francisco. I created Cool Backgrounds because I ran into the problem first hand of wanting a compelling image for another side project and ended up using javascript to create it, but damn was it painful. Not anymore 😊

@benln 🙏 for hunting! Have a few more features to add to CoolBG but the next project is related to open graph visualization, think: a site that previews (and let’s you edit) how you look across all social channels. I’ve been wanting it forever!

The tool looks great! Thanks for sharing ;) Wonder if there will be an option to download an SVG version of the image?

@svenalhamad Most of the javascript libraries are using canvas so it's a lil bit hard to extract an svg from that. But if you download any of the Gradient Topography samples, those are all in SVG since I built that library!
