**The Problem That Started It All** It was 2 AM in Lagos, Nigeria. I had a client deadline in 6 hours. I needed to merge 3 PDFs and compress them. Simple, right? WRONG. Every "free" PDF converter I tried: āŒ iLovePDF: "Sign up for free trial" (then $48/year) āŒ SmallPDF: 2 conversions per day limit (I needed 10) āŒ Sejda: Uploaded my files to their servers (client data!) āŒ Adobe: $15/month for basic features I was furious. Why is something so simple so complicated? **The Midnight Decision** At 2:30 AM, instead of sleeping, I opened VS Code. "Screw it. I'll build my own." I knew it was possible to process PDFs entirely in the browser using: - pdf-lib for PDF manipulation - Canvas API for image conversion - Client-side compression algorithms No servers needed. No uploads. True privacy. **72 Hours of Coding** I didn't sleep much that weekend. Built the core features: āœ… Merge PDFs āœ… Split PDFs āœ… Compress PDFs āœ… PDF to JPG/PNG āœ… Image conversions Tested it obsessively. Made sure it was FAST. Deployed to Vercel. Free hosting. Perfect. **Why I'm Sharing This** I'm 22. From Nigeria. No venture capital. No team. Just me. I built ConvertFlow because: 1. **Privacy matters** - Your files should never leave your device 2. **Free should mean FREE** - No hidden limits, no bait-and-switch 3. **Simple tools shouldn't require accounts** - Just use it and go I've been hustling for 2 years trying to make something work. This is my shot. If this helps even 100 people, it's worth it. Try it: [https://convertflowcom.vercel.app/] - Rick, Creator of ConvertFlow
