Connecting communities in the local spaces that matter most

We believe that local communities work best when everyone pulls together. By connecting socially and professionally with others, we can enhance well-being, facilitate growth and build lasting memories. Conveenie is an online marketplace for community-based venue hire, bringing people together in local spaces — to connect, collaborate, support, learn and grow.

It was 4 years ago that I felt something was missing, sense of dislocation. I made what felt like a brave step to join Camberwell community choir and I’m so glad I did. Found my voice, discovered that I could sing and how good it feels to use this instrument we all have, harmonising in a group together.  I realised how important community and connection is - we need it and that it’s right on our doorstep. It was through this experience that I found out how difficult it is for local groups and clubs to find suitable venues for whatever their passion is. And how important it is for these local spaces to be used as much as possible. Inspired by these conversations venues and feedback from and community group leaders, I decided to quit my job in branding and create www.conveenie.com ‘the Airbnb on community space’. Fast forward to the start of this year and there was a sense of isolation in being a solo entrepreneur. I realised that the antidote to this was making 2025 a year of collaboration. We can go so much further when partner with like minded organisations who are doing something complementary. Having contacted Choirfarm https://www.choirfarm.com to explore what we could create something together, thinking just a blog exchange, they kindly invited me to join the bid for an Innovate UK funded project which we awarded! https://choirfriendlyvenues.org ...So, it’s gone full circle.
