Never accidentally quit an app again.

Have you ever accidentally hit ⌘Q and quit an app when you really meant to press ⌘W to close a window? CommandQ stops apps from quitting unless you hold down ⌘Q for a short delay. This gives you time to catch your mistake and let go before the app quits.

It's something John Gruber once referred to as "hostile" and "anti-Mac", but like 😒 You know what? For those of us who live on their keyboards, this is great. I'm always aiming for ⌘-Tab and hit ⌘-Q instead. No more.

CommandQ was a small Mac app I originally built in 2011, but it eventually stopped working due to Apple's security changes in macOS Mojave and upcoming Catalina. Much to my surprise, over the last eight years this little app has amassed over 20,000 happy users. So, I couldn't just let it die. Version 2.0, released today, is a ground-up rewrite, built using modern macOS technologies. I've squashed all the bugs and added a few new features. Back in 2011, I launched CommandQ for $3.99 and received a *ton* of hateful feedback via email and Twitter about how I was ripping off customers by charging "so much". Well, those folks are going to be sorely disappointed to learn version 2.0 is now $9.99. Why? Because I practice sustainable software development. Customers pay a fair, one-time, non-subscription price that allows me to eat, and in return they can expect a well-crafted app that will be supported into the future. Version 1.0 lasted eight years, and I'm pricing this new release to ensure 2.0 is around for a long time to come, too.
I use BTT app and set "right clicking on a red button to quit an app." I think this will conflict with your app, right? Thanks.
@sunnyheart Nope, I use BTT, too. CommandQ only listens for the keyboard shortcut. It shouldn't interfere with any other way of quitting apps.
@rtylerhall I tried you app (version 1) Before, and it really conflicted with BTT's function, right clicking on a red button to quit an app. I will try the version 2 of your app, when I have time. Thank you very much.
