I'm a .NET developer who was using Claude and ChatGPT to learn new topics, but I noticed a problem — those conversations disappeared. There was no progress tracking, no structure, and no way to know if I actually understood something or just felt like I did. On top of that, Microsoft retired their .NET certifications, so there's no real benchmark left for .NET developers to measure their knowledge against. I wanted something that would test my understanding, not just feed me answers. That's where the Socratic method came in — instead of explaining a concept to you, the AI asks you questions to surface what you actually know (and what you don't). Then it quizzes you to make it stick. The process evolved a lot. I started with just the chat + quiz flow, but quickly realized that without streaks, grades, and visible progress, there was no reason to come back daily. So I added streak tracking (inspired by Duolingo), a rank system that goes from Little Grasshopper to Sensei, and achievements to celebrate milestones. I also added voice modes so you can speak your answers instead of typing — which feels much more natural for a conversation-based app. The whole thing is built with Blazor and Claude's API. I used Claude Code as my AI pair programmer throughout — it wrote the tests, helped architect the services, and even built this landing page.
