@edyluisrey when it runs a bunch of reviews at once, does it eat a lot of RAM? or does it depend on how big the PRs are..?
@radu_irava2 Not much on CodeCrab's side — it's a Tauri app, so it's light by itself. The models run in the cloud; locally, each review is just one Claude Code CLI process. So RAM scales with how many reviews you run at the same time (each one ≈ a normal claude session), not really with PR size. PR size mostly affects how long a review takes and how many tokens it uses
Really cool! Does it also use local LLM models? What do you recommend hardware wise for that to work 32gb macbook m5 etc or better specs? Whats your experience around this?
@alchemist_studio Yes, CodeCrab supports local LLMs! You reuse your subscriptions/API keys from Claude Code for now, with Cursor, Codex, and others coming soon. Because it's built with Tauri, it’s super lightweight, fast, and uses very little memory—so it runs smoothly on pretty much any hardware setup!
I built it to fix my own routine" is the best reason to build anything lol. also love that you use it every day, that tells me it actually works
