Hi everyone, I'm James, founder of Philosophical AI. Cobalt started because I became frustrated with the way modern AI tools were evolving. I found myself constantly switching between browsers, AI models, messaging apps, research, documents, and dozens of tabs just to accomplish simple work. At the same time, I watched the industry race toward autonomous agents that make decisions on behalf of users. That wasn't the future I wanted to build. So instead of creating another AI browser, we created a new category we call the Agentic Accelerator. Cobalt brings together ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, local AI, messaging, research, files, shopping, and everyday tools into one private workspace while keeping the human firmly in control. Privacy wasn't added later. It became part of the architecture from day one through EdenGate, local intelligence, encrypted credentials, and a philosophy we've repeated since the beginning: "Intelligence should empower you, not extract from you." Great question. Our goal isn't to build a better browser. It's to build a better AI experience. We believe the future isn't another cloud browser trying to imitate a human session from a remote datacenter. It's AI working alongside you, on your own desktop, inside your real browser environment, with you remaining in control. That architectural decision changes almost everything. Instead of uploading your workflow to the cloud, Cobalt accelerates the workflow you already have. Your authenticated sessions stay on your machine. Your files stay local. You can work side-by-side with frontier models, your own documents, PDFs, images, research, or live web pages without handing your digital life to another service. The browser will continue to improve, but that's not the moat. The moat is an architecture built around local-first execution, privacy by design, and keeping the human in control while AI accelerates the work—not replacing the user or extracting more of their data. For us, intelligence should empower you, not extract from you.
