CinePlayer is an open-source media player built on top of CinePlayerSDK. As the core playback engine of Cinemore CinePlayerSDK has been extensively validated in real-world use, and we’re now expanding on those results. CinePlayer demonstrates how a high-performance engine can deliver an exceptional audio-video playback experience while keeping the application layer flexible and extensible.

Cineplayer is an open-source media system designed for NAS scenarios. We didn’t build it to create yet another “player app,” but to solve the core system-level problems in home theater and multi-device use: how to manage a media library reliably, how to keep state consistent across multiple users and endpoints, and how to deliver these capabilities in a production-ready way for NAS and OEM partners. In the Cinemore architecture, the server focuses on media file scanning and indexing, metadata scraping and management (with support for NFO and re-matching/correction), and multi-user management. Playback is handled by the client-side player on each platform (server-side transcoding is not provided at this stage). We’re currently updating the open-source repository—stay tuned!
