this is brilliant - now vegans can fork popular recipes with substitutes, or people with allergies can fork with substitutions, and so on - or spicy versions, etc - what's the story behind this? is this built on github code, or a custom app?

An interesting angle on sourcing recipes! Advanced Scaling All recipes on cinc.kitchen are scalable. (We can scale recipes from other sites, too!) We can even convert volume measurements to mass, and vice-versa. So, if you need to know how many cups of flour are in 200 grams, we've got you covered. Photos, Videos and More Use any combination of photos, videos, gifs and text to express your recipe however you want. Reuseable Recipes Use recipes as ingredients in other recipes -- like chicken stock in chicken noodle soup. You can also adapt other users' recipes by "forking" them. Recipe Importer Have a recipe on another site? Use our recipe importer to add it to cinc. Or import without the plugin. Simply log in, click "Add a Recipe", and then "Import Recipe." Shopping Lists Easily create shopping lists by automatically adding ingredients from recipes.

@bentossell How's the importer work? Says it won't work on all sites, I'm assuming it looks for schema for recipes, ingredients, etc?
