7 in 10 sick cats never see a vet — because no one notices they're in pain. Cats hide illness by instinct, and by the time owners notice, it's often too late.
CatsMe uses AI developed with Nihon University's veterinary researchers to detect pain and stress from a photo of your cat's face.
How it works:
1. Snap a photo of your cat
2. AI analyzes facial muscle patterns
3. Get instant health insights
31,000+ cat parents in 50 countries. Grown with zero ad spend. 8 languages.
The idea is genuinely appealing — an app that helps me keep an eye on my cat's health through photos. Onboarding was quick and simple: upload a photo, answer a few questions about age, breed, and symptoms.
What needs improvement
After the questions, the "analyzing" animation was over so fast I doubt anything actually happened — then I got zero results and was pushed straight to a subscription paywall. Two issues: (1) asking me to pay before showing a single result gives me no reason to believe it works; (2) the exchange feels one-sided — I shared my pet's photo and personal health details and got nothing back. Even a sample report or a blurred preview would help users decide whether it's worth paying for.
